March’17 Wrap Up

with No Comments

February was a creative month. That went by too quickly for my taste. Firstly just started writing again and getting back to reading after a longest reading slump ever. This has been the best reading month in a very long time. Somehow I did manage to read a lot of books 6 in total. Lately I have been killing it with my book choices. Lets get on with the March Wrap Up.

Read this month:

A Torch Against The Night by Sabaa Tahir

Series: An Ember in the Ashes #2

Genres: Young Adult, Romance, Fantasy

Good Reads:

A Torch Against The Night by Sabaa Tahir

It feels like a lifetime that I read the first book An Ember in the Ashes which i absolutely loved. I was so eager to get this book. I was so ready to continue Elias and Laia’s journey I started reading straight away. But to be honest the first 100 or so pages didn’t excite me the way Embers did.
I started wondering would this be a filler book in the sequel. Not that i didn’t like the book we got some pretty awesome fight scenes and great character development. But it didn’t captivate me like the 1st one did.
AND THEN we got the mother of all PLOT TWISTS. I didn’t see that coming it seriously shocked me (*absolutely loved*)
I love Elias, Helena and Laia with all my heart. Each character has a different perspective, a different story to tell in this world. They’re so much more than a romantic connection and that is clearly evident by the end of this book.
Its a long time before the next book…. Just gotta wait it out.

Paper Princess by Erin Watt

Series: The Royals #1

Genres: Young Adult, Romance, Contemporary, New Adult

Good Reads:

This was a very breezy read. This soo reminded me of Cruel Intentions and Gossip Girl mixed. Its a story of young Ella who is struggling to survive is suddenly put into a world of richie rich kids which she has no intention of living with. Ella is immediately made aware of the fact that she isn’t the only one that doesn’t want her there. Reed, the second oldest son, is initially very unhappy with her arrival.Wants to get rid of her asap. Ella’s rags to riches journey begins…
There is no surprise at the romance between Reed and Ella but it seemed to instant. This book is no literary Guinness and it has absolutely no plot in it. But somehow it is entertaining.
This a new adult genre so do expect intimate scenes in it.

Broken Prince by Erin Watt

Series: The Royals #2

Genres: Young Adult, Romance, Contemporary, New Adult

Good Reads:

This book dives right into the story after the somewhat cliffhanger ending of Paper Princess. It is in a dual narrative format from perspective of Ella and Reed. Reed desperation to get Ella back in his life takes up the major part of the book. Remaining being Brooke crooked games. The chemistry between Reed and Ella is hotter that ever. Its fast paced so you could get over with this in one sitting. This book is more like a soap opera and again ends with a cliffhanger.
Jumping right into twisted palace next.

Twisted Palace by Erin Watt

Series: The Royals #3

Genres: Young Adult, Romance, Contemporary, New Adult

Good Reads:

Disappointing. I expected a lot more PLL type drama but it was completely dull. The book was all about Ella and Reed getting on 😉 Only the last 15% or so was interesting . That was when all the action FINALLY took place. But still the ending was also not that great same as the build up to the climax. It was a bit unbelievable and rushed. It was a lackluster book. My least fav book of the three.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

Series: A Court of Thorns and Roses #1

Genres: Young Adult, Romance, Fantasy, New Adult

Good Reads:

Great re-telling of the Beauty and the Beast! Sarah J Maas has done it again! Boy o boy i love the characters in this book. Feyre, the heroine, is both a huntress and painter and Tamlin the beast with a heart are simply well written. Sarah takes her time building the relationship between Feyre, Tamlin, Lucien and even Alis, a servant. and of course Rhysand Surprisingly, there weren’t as many characters as I expected. Even the villian is justifed being bad. This book for the first time confused me whom do i ship.- Feyre & Tamlin or Feyre & Rhysand. Cant wait to read the next one!!

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

Series: A Court of Thorns and Roses #2

Genres: Young Adult, Romance, Fantasy, New Adult

Good Reads:

Hands down the best book i read recently. This is soon becoming one of my favorite series. What an amazing, magical and ethereal read. I don’t really know what to say to express how stunning A Court of Mist and Fury is. Feyre, made me so so proud of her and who she’s become at the end of the novel
Tamlin oh dear oh dear how many mistakes will you make. Rhysand hands down has become the best book boyfriend ever.Sarah writing is amazing.Every scene, every relationship and even the steamy scenes also so well written. I really didn’t want to end!
Need the next book ASAP!!

So that’s my Wrap UP. March was good reading month, I’m finally getting out of my reading slump its hard to believe it myself, maybe it’s because the new year didn’t give me the pressure of needing to finish a reading goal, but i actually WANTED TO READ. I haven’t felt this motivated in probably… six months. and these were good books I feel so :).
