Kiehl’s Haul

with No Comments

I am on skin care splurge. I am a skin care junkie. Spending on the protecting my skin and taking care of it rather than trying to covering up with make up. I recently visited Kiehl’s store here in Mumbai. This is what I bought ….

Kiehl’s has a team of well-trained customer representatives (those in the funky lab coats) who are able to advise on a products suitability for your skin and how to pair different products to get the best effect (or if it is better not to layer too many products as well) based on your skin type and concerns.

I have always had a good result with Kiehl’s products. I have tried their oil free moisturizers to serums I have a found liking for all of them. Now that I have run out of my daily facial moisturizer I was in hunt for a good one. So when I landed up at Kiehl’s store they suggested me the Ultra Facial Cream. Its basically 24 Hour, light-textured hydrator and reduces moisture loss. It claims to have continuous water replenishment throughout day and free from animal cruelty. It is for all skin type this is very specifically asked cause I didn’t want any acne attack.(I have a Combinational Skin)

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial cream is a pure white cream with a texture that is between gel and a regular cream. It gets absorbed in the skin easily, wait for  a minute or so before applying my makeup (*After using it I think it’s not for Oily Skin*). And does not feel greasy or heavy at all on my skin. With having a little medicinal smell when you smell it in the jar but when you apply it on your face you barely smell anything. It has glycerin, avocado oil, olive fruit oil, rice barn oil and soya bean oil; everything that my dry skin would thank for. Can be used as a night cream too.

During super humid days it takes a while to get completely absorbed might not work for oily skin. It contains long list of ingredients especially urea and parabens.(*Scary*)

As the its a skin care product I let my self splurge a bit .This cost around Rs 2100 for a 50 ml pot.

I’m happy with the overall softening and protecting effect is has on my skin. However, bearing in mind our Mumbai climate, I suppose even though the texture is awesome, I would suggest not putting too much of it nevertheless.

PS: If you’re unsure of whether any of these products are suitable for your skin, you’re also able to request for complimentary samples. Kiehl’s has a very generous sampling policy, “Try Before You Buy”. Kiehl’s is constantly emphasizing on how all products are built with efficacy at the core and they encourage testing their products with these complimentary samples before you take the leap and purchase – no questions asked.

I asked for the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado (which has a cult following) and wanted to try the midnight recovery serum but they didn’t have it in sample they provided me with Daily Reviving Concentrate sample to try.
