Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Gel | First Impression

with No Comments

I recently have started to fall in love with Clarins products. After using up the two samples provided by the Sales Associates in my previous trip I fell in love with the HydraQuench Cream-Gel. Living in Mumbai a city which is hot and humid it’s a pain to find a good everyday moisturizer and that to for my combinational-oily skin type the find is more difficult.

Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Gel has a look of a thick cream but the consistency of a gel. This is made keeping in mind the hydration needs of people with normal combination skin types and that to for my city climate.

I adore the texture and the light fragrance and of course how my skin feels after using it. My skin is left feeling plum and ultimately hydrated.

My skin feels silky smooth after use and I find that my skin becomes less oily later on in the day. Packed with Katafray Bark that helps to reduce dehydration, Alpine Willow to fight shine and Hyaluronic Acid to help the skin to retain moisture this product has impressed me.

An ultra-moisturising, refreshing, non-oily texture for normal to combination skin and all skin types exposed to hot climates. This creamy gel promotes an immediate “cooling” effect on contact with the skin. This formula helps tighten pores and assures a long-lasting matte finish on skin Non-oily, it provides an invisible, silky feel on skin’s surface.

Clarins, known for its clean cut and beautiful packaging, have chosen an elegant blue frosted glass jar with white screw on top for the HydraQuench Cream-Gel. The jar does contain a lid for added protection, though I find it pretty useless. The packaging is strong. You can throw it into your makeup bag while travelling without the fear of it breaking or leaking. The lid is quite useless in my opinion, a spatula would have been a much better option if they wanted to pack in an extra item.

My skin looks better overall, foundations/BB’s applying better. Perfect hydrating product for normal combination skin types. Oily skinned beauties may also like it as this product seeps into the skin quickly and does not leave any oily residue on face throughout the day. You need a tiny amount to give your tired looking skin a boost of hydration. It moisturises without overdoing it. It’s light and absorbs quickly, doesn’t cause breakouts or sensitivity. The fragrance is nice too. It helps to protect skin from the harmful effects of the environment..

It gives me a the primer type feeling which I don’t like much. I particularly don’t see any improvement in my facial pores. The fragrance is lasting so those who don’t like fragrance give this one a miss. This one does contain alcohol. I am not fond of the packaging because it doesn’t seem hygienic to keep putting my fingers into the tub for more product. Not enough hydration during the winters.

With a price tag of Rs 3,450 for 50 ml Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Gel is definitely not on a cheap one. But, considering the fact that you really do not need much product to cover your face might as well give it a shot. However this is one of the biggest let down of this beautiful product.

Though, I love the scent and even the effects of Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Gel on my skin yet, Ingredients like alcohol and parfum do not justify the price tag it comes with. It is Clarins exclusive Anti-Pollution complex. Light weight yet moisturizing. Doesn’t break my skin out. Keeps my skin supple and matte. I also like the fresh scent. One of my favorite summer everyday moisturizers!
